Cool Queen Street West

June 2015 – Queen Street West is one of my favorite spots in Toronto!  If you’re looking for creative and unique items, cute and cool boutiques & restaurants, head to Queen Street, west of Bathurst. Here’s a peak :

Oak + Fort : Vancouver based design house offering well-priced, modern tailored  basics, mostly for women, but also for men. I think of it as a “chic” Muji! The current Queen Street West location (at Tecumseth) is a pop-up shop, scheduled to move to a permanent location sometime in 2015. Check their website for all the details!

Old Faithful Shop : another Vancouver based store which opened only a few months ago, inspired by the co-founder’s grandfarents’ convenience store in Newfoundland. You will find high-end apothecary products, woolen blankets, pantry items (bourbon maple syrup!), books, beautiful coffee makers, cool “Toronto” market bags. The store is very refreshing and you can feel that each item has been carefully selected for its functionality and beauty. A great place to pamper yourself…and your home!

Drake General Store : further west, right beside the Drake Hotel, is a cool and fun store where you will find very original canadiana-style, as well as scandinavian inspired items! From a Toronto brunch map, dinnerware, maple flavored candles (in maple syrup can), Monocle designed items, Malin & Goetz products, the list goes on and on! Great for gifts (including for yourself) and unique souvenirs!
